Donate to help while Borden is in the hospital

Hi I’m Megan, Borden’s mom. Unfortunately we have found ourselves in a very less than ideal situation.
Monday May 26 2025 I stayed home from work to take care of Borden as he was unwell again. This wasn’t new for us as he’s been experiencing extreme stomach aches and has been very unwell more times then I can count over the past few years. This time was different though. By dinner time Borden could barely stand and was violently ill. I rushed him to Rimbey hospital where Chantry met us later on after seeing the dr and having an xray done we were sent to Red Deer hospital. At the Red Deer hospital they did an ultrasound and hooked Borden up to an IV very quickly there was concern that his appendix had ruptured. We knew for sure he had a bad infection in his abdomen. It didn’t take long for drs to send Borden by ambulance to the Stollery.
After a nightmare evening, unknowns and sleeping what little we could in chairs Borden went for more testing (another ultrasound and a CT scan). During these tests they let us know Borden has a deformity with his small intestine that he has most likely had since birth. This has unfortunately created a pocket that has gotten inflamed and caused fluid and infection to build up in Bordens abdomen. This was in turn pushing on his small intestine causing stuff to get backed up and creating an unreal amount of pain.
Now anyone who knows Borden knows he is our wild child and to see him in such a state is something no parent should ever have to experience. Unfortunately we are still waiting for Borden to have an MRI. After his MRI and gruelling recovery from the infection we will be meeting with the surgeon again to have this excess mass removed to better Bordens life.
Unfortunately through this time both Chantry and myself have been unable to work. We have put a lot of miles on the car back and forth from the city as well as paying for parking and food and gas. At this point things are up in the air as to when I will be able to return back to work as well I will have to take more time off when Borden has surgery. Those who know me know I am terrible about asking for help but this has put us into an awful position. If there is any chance you are able to help please know it would be so greatly appreciated. We already cannot thank those who have helped us at this point. Chantry’s mom and dad have taken on a lot of responsibility with helping care for Clara and getting her to and from school as well my dad has showed up every day to see Borden and give us a break. As well as those who have helped with making sure work is taken care of. The list of people that have helped us already long and we are so grateful to have such an amazing support group in our corner.
That being said we loathe to be asking for help but if you are able to please know any extra funds will also be donated to the stollery in support of all the families in need.
