Hi my name is Ellie Downey.

I am Wendy’s Niece although she was like a mother to me and my siblings.

It saddens my heart to have to be making this go fund me as Wendy was such a kind, caring person who went above and beyond for everyone and was truly the heart of our family unit.

On the 25TH of October Wendy sustained a severe head injury causing her to have a bleed/blood clot on the brain which lead her to be in hospital for many weeks. It seemed as though Wendy had made a recovery prompting her return home. Unfortunately less than 36 hours after returning home Wendy’s health began to show more serious concerns leading to her readmission into hospital in an unresponsive state due to multiple strokes and multi organ failure which doctors had failed to pick up on in her original admission for the head trauma. At this stage the doctors did not have a positive outlook on Wendy’s chances of survival giving her less than 48 hours to live. However my Aunty put up an unbelievable battle for 3 and a half weeks and even managed to communicate verbally with us shocking the doctors and medical professionals, we truly believed and prayed Wendy would make a recovery at this point but sadly this wasn’t the case.

Wendy sadly lost her life on the 21st of November after battling for over 3 weeks surrounded by family and loved ones.

Wendy was an actual angel who graced us all with her love , constant support and caring nature. No matter what challenges Wendy faced in her life she always put others before herself and was always willing to help everyone and anyone with a smile on her face. We are all so grateful to have had such an amazing, inspirational women to look up to and guide us in life. The magnitude of this loss is like no other as she was one in a million.

I hope you all can support me with giving Wendy the send off she deserves as the truly amazing women she was.

Due to this being unforeseen circumstances this is something no one was prepared for and funeral costs for the most basic package are costing between £3-£4000.

(please bare in mind that this cost is just for a cremation service and does not include extras such as flowers ect).

unfortunately due to us having no funds to proceed with the funeral plans my aunty remains in the morgue in the hospital that she passed in and will remain there until we can proceed with the funeral plans. We as a family just want our aunty to be at rest and hope you all can help us move forward with this.
