My name is Jimena Escobedo, I'm a Mexican violinist who grew up in Brownsville, TX.

I started playing violin at the age of 4 in the former Music Academy of UTB with Dr. Martha Placeres.

This fundraiser is intended to help me kickstart my process of buying a new instrument.

I graduated from the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey in 2024.

During my bachelor's degree, my school lent me a beautiful violin and bow, and now that I've graduated and have started my professional life, I need the tools that will help me keep growing.

I often think about coming back to my hometown in Brownsville since it was where I started playing. I would love to show what I've been doing all these years and hope that the people who knew little Jimena will see how much I've grown and be proud of the musical seed everyone here planted in me.
