My sister Vicky is fighting her second battle with Cancer. As a teenager, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma, and after two long years at Yale, thankfully went into remission. But due to complications from the aggressive treatment she received, Vicky has lived with numerous health issues and severe chronic pain in the years since her recovery. She has spent much of her life in and out of the hospital.

Unfortunately, this past summer Vicky was diagnosed with a rare and high grade sarcoma called Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor which is inoperable. Doctors believe this new Cancer is a result of the radiation she received as a teenager. Vicky is undergoing a grueling regimen of chemotherapy and proton radiation at MSK which is taking a toll. She has already been hospitalized for a toxic buildup of chemo in her body and is now fighting pneumonia as well.

Vicky is the strongest person I know and she has been through so much in her 44 years. Since beating Cancer the first time, she was blessed to marry her husband Jeffrey and they just celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary. Vicky is a mother to two beautiful and amazing young girls, Arianna and Gabriella, who are in high school. The girls are the joy of her life. They are being strong for their mom and helping to hold the household together during this difficult time. 

Vicky has a long battle ahead and her family needs help caring for her. They are a single income family as she has always been a stay-at-home mother due to her health issues. The medical bills are mounting, and her husband has already taken so much time off from work to shuttle her between appointments and hospital stays.
