Donate to Help Veteran Terry Walk Again

Hello,
My name is Emily. I would like to introduce you to my recently acquainted friend, Terry Boggs. Terry is a local veteran and has recently undergone surgery to have his leg amputated from just below the knee due to an infection that could not be fixed by the surgery he had previously been through.

After his first surgery, Terry continued to work hard doing things such as yard work for people and helping deliver pizzas for the shop that I am currently managing (he continued to work as hard as he could while in recovery, wearing a boot). He is a tough man and a hard worker. He has sacrificed his very own life to ensure the protection and safety of our country while serving in our military. He will be leaving the hospital shortly and transferred to Meadow Brook Medical facility to begin his long rehabilitation process.

Because he makes a little too much through disability, his insurance will only cover 80% of the cost to get him his prosthetic leg that he will need to keep on doing side work here and there to help him get by. We all know how difficult it is to live on disability alone. I spoke with him today, and he is in very high spirits and plans to make a full recovery and keep on going. As the saying goes, “When you stop using it, you lose it.”

I would like to help raise, if not some, but all of the remaining costs to get the prosthetic he needs to keep on doing the things that he loves to do, and that is work. The remaining cost is right around $4,000, and he cannot receive the leg without payment first. I know this man is very proud, and it is going to be very difficult for him to accept this help, but it is something I really would like to do for him as I believe that he deserves it. Any little bit will help, even if it is a dollar. If you cannot donate, please share. He also has animals at home that need to be taken care of while he is in recovery, so a little extra can go a long way as he will not be able to do his side work while he recovers.

Thank you so much for your time in reading this. Anything will be appreciated so much!!
