Hi, my name is Carol and I’m Vash Clay’s mom. Last week, the flu ran rampant through our home and Vash got sick. Unfortunately, he did not get better and on Christmas Day, we took him into the ER. Almost immediately, they transferred him to Des Moines where they have a PICU. His kidneys were failing, his liver was damaged, and his blood pressure was dangerously low. He’s been on all kinds of meds to help him but it took a rash on his body to tell the drs he is fighting a strain of toxic shock syndrome on top of the flu. Some things are getting better, but his kidneys have taken a real hit.

We are traveling back and forth between Ames and Des Moines and I’ve missed work to be by his side. Any donations will go towards helping pay medical bills as well as the costs we are incurring from travel and missing work.
