Dear friends and well-wishers of Vamsi Pulaga and his family.

I am Srinivasa Gudipati (Srini) from Phoenix, organizing this donation campaign for my friend & colleague Vamsi Pulaga.

Vamsi’s Father & Mother were admitted to Honor Health - Emergency Center, Deer Valley, Phoenix, Arizona, USA on March 18th and March 24th, respectively and were diagnosed with severe Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) caused by e-coli bacteria. The infection was life-threatening and dangerously increased his father's blood sugar levels to 1100 (normally 150) and is also causing irreparable damage to his father’s kidneys, leaving them no option but to have dialysis (almost on a daily basis), while his mother is slowly recovering from the damage.

Vamsi’s father had lost consciousness on 3/18 due to acute high blood sugar levels during hospital admission. After treating him for 4 days in ICU with insulin and antibiotics, his sugar levels are finally under control and has regained his consciousness, however, his kidneys are still nonfunctional & getting treated in the hospital. For past one week, he has undergone various procedures, like Angiogram (to identify the cause of blood loss), multiple CT scans, procedure to clear out infection on kidneys, couple of rounds of blood infusion etc.

At the current state, after multiple procedures and attempts for diagnosis by renal Doctors, we are still unsure how long it may take for Vamsi’s father to completely recover and get back to normal routine. There are high chances that doctors would recommend his discharge for out-patient dialysis, which is an expensive medical treatment in US. Prior to this, Vamsi’s father was very healthy, a good follower of healthy diet and Yoga. He never had any health problems. Vamsi’s parents planned their visit to USA to spend good time with his grandchild after happy retirement.

Vamsi’s Parents are on visiting VISA and visitor/travel insurances are not helping much in this scenario. As there is no active health insurance coverage, we are expecting their outstanding medical expenses to be around 100,000+ USD after relief programs offered at the hospital. One way we all as a community can make a difference is by helping them to ease financial burden. We request both near and far to please donate generously and help Vamsi’s family during these difficult times. All the donations received will go towards medical expenses covering both Parents at the hospital.
