Hello, my name is Stewart and I am fundraising for my daughter's U14 (Grade 8) rep basketball team. We are a new rep team based in Markham and we have a busy season! The team practices two or three times per week and will play around 35 games throughout southern Ontario by the end of the season in early May, divided into league games, exhibition games, and tournament games. It is busy but it is a lot of fun and the girls are really coming together as a team, playing well, and enjoying themselves.

Rep basketball is a wonderful opportunity but it is costly. The team fees are considerable and include the costs of Ontario Basketball League (OBL) games, practices, and the end-of-year banquet. The fees do not include the cost of tournaments, exhibition games, and travel including hotels; these additional costs may total $10,000 for the team. I am fundraising to offset as much as possible these additional costs which otherwise must be borne by the girls' parents. Your contributions will help our team to enter more tournaments and play more games and to travel across southern Ontario to do so. Any contribution is greatly appreciated; as a guideline we ask for donations in the $10-$50 range (GoFundMe may suggest more, but ignore that, and feel free to toggle the suggested tip to zero).

As of January 9 we have played eight games and are off to a 5-3 start in both OBL games and exhibition games. The season is heating up now, as we have several league games and a tournament later in January. Wish us luck and I will keep you informed on our progress!
