Hello, my name is Jeremie, and I am doing this fundraiser to support my wife, Jaslyn, while she goes through this unforeseen experience. We never thought that this could impact us, but we were completely naive, and now we are seeing it and experiencing it firsthand. I want to say that you are in our prayers daily to anyone else going through this. Jaslyn is a mother of five boys, and we had our children young; we have a 21-year-old, a 13-year-old, an 11-year-old nine and an 8-year-old. Being a boy mom is extremely tough, but she doesn't seem fazed by it. She is intelligent, loving, caring, loyal, and the centerpiece of our family dynamic. Our family is built around her strength, and she continues to be challenged with illnesses. Jaslyn is a 37-year-old woman who lived a healthy life until Covid hit; she contracted covid, which caused blood clots in her lungs; the blood clots were so severe that it kept her in the hospital and out of work to the point it exhausted her annual and sick leave. Jaslyn is a clinical trainer for our local doctor's offices, and she didn't allow the blood clots to slow her down. As soon as she was out of the hospital she was ready to go back to work. I am a Child Protective Investigator, and my income can not support our family alone; my line of work is rewarding morally but not financially. The cost of medicines for the blood clots and medical bills came in, and it continues to overwhelm our finances. Recently, Jaslyn was diagnosed with breast cancer. It is what they call a phyllodes tumor, a rare but very aggressive cancer. Knowing this information, we took action immediately and went straight into surgery for a partial mastectomy and removed the mass. After the biopsy came back from the pathologist, we were informed that even more cancerous margins were in her breast and required more tissue to be removed. So a second surgery is now needed within less than a month. This would be done before a complete mastectomy which would be more intrusive for Jaslyn. We are scheduled for our second surgery next week and the medical bills are continuously flowing in. We can't keep up with the stress of the uncertainty of recovery and the possibility of drowning in debt. Jaslyn, thinks of her time away from work, not being able to pay her bills, and not having enough PTO when she should be thinking about her health and staying stress free. We are a very humble family and try to do things without help but we are very overwhelmed and looking for the help of others. We are raising the money to pay for the medical bills but also for the peace of mind while we go through this life altering event. Our motto as a family is positive people who do positive things. Our thoughts and actions will remain positive. Thank you for reading our story and God Bless!
