Hi, my name is Sam and I am Otis's mom. He is my 8 year old Chocolate Labrador that is my world. Unfortunately early February I noticed Otis trembling and breathing quicker than normal. After taking him into his primary Veterinarian multiple times and a trip to the Animal Hospital they still couldn't figure out what was wrong with Otis. They ended up referring us to a Neurologist in Ventura, California to get an MRI of his brain and body. We were skeptical on taking him as going to a specialist for an animal is extremely expensive and time consuming, as I had to take off of work multiple times to take him. We opted to do the MRI and got very unfortunate results that he has a Pituitary Macroadenoma in his brain, essentially a brain tumor. This is what has been causing all of his symptoms over the past month. Unfortunately the tumor is on the larger side and the only way to "treat" the tumor is by starting radiation therapy. The only Oncology center that is closest to us that has the technology to treat his brain tumor is in Carlsbad, Ca. With his age and the side effects Otis is having the Oncologist feels he will be a good candidate to start radiation therapy to shrink his tumor. With that being said I ask that if you feel willing in your heart to donate towards Otis's treatment we would be forever grateful. Anything at this point will help us give Otis another chance of being his carefree self.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!
Sam and Eric Pulido
