Our short film tells the moving story of two Ukrainian refugee sisters — one of them is 20 years old, and the younger sister is 12 years old — who flee the devastation of war and seek safety in Portugal.

Through their eyes, we follow the emotional journey of starting over in a foreign land: the challenges of adapting to a new culture, the uncertainty of the unknown, and the small, hopeful steps toward rebuilding a sense of home.

Filmed in Portugal, the project combines authentic storytelling and intimate cinematography to portray both the beauty of their new surroundings and the deep resilience required to begin again.

This film is more than just a story — it’s a reflection of real lives affected by war, a tribute to courage, and a reminder of the strength that comes from hope.

This short film is being created by a group of university students in Porto as their final project on a Sound and Image degree course. Filming is scheduled to begin in February 2026, and your donations will help us cover essential production expenses — including equipment, transportation, set design, costumes, and post-production costs.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us one step closer to turning this story into reality and showcasing our collective effort as emerging filmmakers.

Este filme conta a história comovente de duas irmãs ucranianas refugiadas — a irma mais velha tem 20 anos e a mais nova 12 anos — que fogem da devastação da guerra e procuram segurança em Portugal.

Através dos seus olhos, acompanhamos a jornada emocional de recomeçar numa terra desconhecida: os desafios de adaptação a uma nova cultura, a incerteza do futuro e os pequenos passos de esperança rumo à reconstrução de um lar.

Filmado em Portugal, o projeto aposta numa narrativa autêntica e numa cinematografia intimista para retratar tanto a beleza dos novos cenários como a força interior necessária para começar de novo.

Este filme é mais do que uma história — é um reflexo de vidas reais afetadas pela guerra, uma homenagem à coragem e um lembrete da força que nasce da esperança.

Está a ser criado por um grupo de estudantes universitários do curso de Som e Imagem, na cidade do Porto, como projeto final de licenciatura. As filmagens estão previstas para fevereiro de 2026, e os donativos irão ajudar-nos a cobrir despesas essenciais de produção — como equipamento, transporte, cenografia, guarda-roupa e pós-produção.

Cada contribuição, por mais pequena que seja, aproxima-nos da concretização deste projeto e representa um gesto de confiança no trabalho de jovens cineastas em início de carreira.
