Donate to help Ukraine refugees in Port Macquarie

Hello, I am fundraising for the Mezina family, who have recently settled in Port Macquarie, NSW after fleeing the Ukraine war.

 

Tetyana Mezina fled Ukraine earlier this year with her husband after the war broke out. They initially stayed in Poland however Tetyana's husband became ill. Tetyana was told to leave her husband in hospital and settle in Australia. Unfortunately Tetyana's husband passed away before he could rejoin Tetyana in Australia.

Tetyana has now been joined by her daughter, Olena and two twin grandchildren, Alex and Evelyn aged 7, who are also from Ukraine.

 

The family have been set up in a unit in Port Macquarie and have only a small amount of savings to see them through the next few weeks/months. They need more money for food, clothing, rent, school supplies etc. They have few belongings and no car.

Olena is a Doctor trained in Ukraine. She is keen to start working in Port Macquarie to support her mother and children and contribute to the Hastings community; however, she needs to complete a transition certification to practice in Australia. This certification will cost more than $3000 and will take months to obtain.
