I am posting a fundraiser to help Tony ("Big Tony") pay for his necessary eye surgery coming up very soon. I'll post a background story below to read ❤️ pictures that will not be posted because the injury is gruesome.

Many months ago, Tony underwent a triple bypass heart surgery that forced him into retirement sooner than expected, then covid, which caused the additional stress on his lungs. More hospitizations, more doctors, it seemed to be a revolving door.

Once in retirement, Tony started fixing pressure washers as a hobby to keep himself busy since he isn't the type to just take time off. A few weeks ago, one of the machines didn't depressurize properly, and a sudden burst shot the broken nozzle of the machine into his eye. He was immediately brought to a local hospital and then transferred to Tampa General for trauma to his eye.

The lens and sac were blown out, causing bleeding and intense unimaginable pain. To reduce the build-up of fluid and pain, Tony had emergency surgery in Tampa to put in a drain that required multiple stitches and actually turned his bottom lid into his eye.

At this point, Tony can not even open his eyelid as it's still so swollen and has no vision. This has now affected his eye lid movement to where the lid is almost paralyzed. The next surgery coming up to put in a permanent lens, recreate the iris, and correct the eye lid muscles is $4,000. Insurance does not cover this surgery because it's a very rare, complicated surgery, but it is the only way to not only keep his eye but get his vision back as well.

Big Tony would give the shirt of his back if you needed it and has always given back to the community. Whether it was picking up trailers of food and supplies for animal shelters, bike runs for charity, or taking supply runs down to the hurricane hit parts of Florida.
