Hi everyone! This is McKenna Barras. I am starting this fundraiser for one of my very best friends, Tonya, and her husband Aubrey and son Gavin. Most of you know we are an inseparable pair. If you see one of us, you probably see the other. She is the most selfless friend, wife, and mother I have ever known. And while she doesn’t like much attention, I know she and Aubrey could really use the help of our community right now!

Tonya was diagnosed with melanoma earlier this year, which was surgically removed, but not before it had the chance to spread to her lymph nodes. The affected nodes were surgically removed a few months later. Now that the melanoma has reached her on such an internal level, she will undergo immunotherapy treatment to prevent further spreading. Immunotherapy will go on for 12 months.

Medical insurance will not even put a dent in what the treatment will cost her and Aubrey. The bills are already piling up -- not to mention time off work for both of them, traveling & gas for treatment days and frequent scans, and the mental toll of all the extra financial burden. I have seen Tonya and Aubrey go above and beyond for everyone they know. Their undercover acts of selflessness are all the more reason I feel led to start this for them.
