Donate to help this elderly couple in dire need

Hi, my name is Mary and I am fundraising to help this elderly couple pay their electric bill and have services reconnected.

I met the Campbells when they were desperately seeking Free Legal help to stop their mobile park manager from evicting them from the mobile home that they own and have lived in for 41 years and have rented a lot in this mobile park. They were scared and stressed because the mobile park manager and their attorney had threatened them with eviction and told them to vacate their mobile home by July 31st, 2023.

The reason the Campbells were told to vacate their home inside the mobile park was because after Mr Campbell missed paying his electric bill that was on a monthly budget payment plan, the electricity was disconnected and the Campbells were told to pay the entire bill from previous months of the plan. The total is $3,567.30 to have their services reconnected.
On a fixed income of $1,000 monthly Mr Campbell could not and still cannot pay $3,567.30.

(The images below show the right and left sides of the FINAL BILL received by the Campbells AFTER their electricity was disconnected.)

So, the Campbells borrowed a neighbor's small generator to keep their refrigerator running to prevent their food from spoiling. They had NO LIGHTS, NO A/C.

And, they only use the generator for a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the late evening because they cannot afford to buy gasoline to run the generator all day!
On hot days the Campbells run one small fan so that Mrs Cambell (who has suffered from a stroke in the past), and her small precious dog, Priscilla, can try to rest. Mrs Campbell takes water-soaked towels and places them on Priscilla at night so that she can sleep.

The mobile park manager served the Campbells an eviction notice for the sole reason that they had to use a generator for a few hours each day to keep their refrigerator running to keep their food. For NO OTHER REASON were Mr and Mrs Campbell threatened to be evicted!! The Campbells were not delinquent on their lot rent and they own their mobile home. When Mr Campbell tried to reason with the mobile park manager, she told him, Pay Your Electric Bill and shut off the generator!! How cruel and heartless!

I paid to for legal services for the Campbells and a Maryland Attorney wrote a letter to the mobile park manager and to the mobile park's attorney informing them that the Campbells cannot be evicted for using a generator as long as they were following the manufacturer's guidelines for safety!! The attorney reminded them that Maryland has specific laws for mobile homeowners in mobile parks. So, I'm sure it shocked the mobile park manager and their attorney who knew the Campbells could not afford an attorney but what they also did not realize is that God will send people to help other people who are in trouble... and everyone is not cruel and without compassion. The Campbells were very appreciative that a stranger would pay for their legal help. I could not allow the mobile park manager to do what I knew was vindictive and illegal but a Maryland attorney had to speak on their behalf, I could not.

Now that the Campbells can exhale about not being forced from their home, they still do not have money to pay their electric bill. Mr Campbell has begged a supervisor at the Southern Maryland Electric Company several times to allow him to get back on the monthly budget plan so that his wife doesn't have to continue suffering. The answer is always, No, you must pay the bill in full!

Mrs Campbell and I have contacted several agencies that advertised help pay utility bills for residents and none of them have funds available. So, I am praying that this story will be read by caring people who will donate to the Campbells to get their electricity reconnected. I will donate and I trust many others will help the Campbells too. This elderly couple and their sweet little dog NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE.
Thank you and may God Bless You All!!!
