This April, the Woodburys had to face every parent's worst nightmare as their six-year-old daughter, Liberty, was admitted to the hospital with a dangerously low white/red blood cell count and platelet levels. After weeks of hospital visits, blood transfusions, and meetings with various doctors, she was finally diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called Aplastic Anemia. A plan was set in place, including chemo treatments, a bone marrow transplant, and several lengthy hospital stays. She is thankfully home now, but still going to the hospital 2-3 times per week for transfusions and to handle any other issues or medication side effects that pop up. Needless to say, it is going to be a long road for sweet Liberty.
If you know the Woodburys, you know what kind and supportive people they are. Both Charlie and Kelsie are consistently there for their friends for whatever they need, whether it's a shoulder to cry on (or drink with), a stoop steak dinner, or a thoughtful and creative gift. And Liberty is just the sweetest, sassiest little Brooklyn kid around. Now, we have a chance to help them out with this impossible situation they are faced with.
With a newborn baby (shout out to my little man, Cassidy Breeze) and Liberty requiring extensive care, Kelsie and Charlie have been and will continue to miss a significant amount of work while managing their ever-growing pile of medical bills. We all know that the Woodburys are not the kind of people to ask for help, even when they need it. This is an opportunity for us all to help out in any way we can. These past few months have been extremely stressful for them, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. Hopefully, we can help ease that stress, even just a bit, through our donations.
I know it's a tough time for many of us right now, but any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated. We all love the Woodburys and are rooting for Liberty to get through all of this as easily as possible.
