Help the Willett Family through 2nd Cancer Diagnosis

Hi, my name is Kellie and I’m raising funds to help cover the costs of living for our growing family. We aren't normally the type of people to ask for help however given our current situation we find ourselves with no other option.

My husband Tom was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in June 2023, after a surgery to remove part of his bowel and 12 rounds of chemo where he had multiple reactions we believed we could start to go back to a normal life. This is when we decided to leave his home town of Warwick and start fresh, we applied for jobs all over QLD and Tom ended up getting a job in Bundaberg with an amazing company and was really enjoying the work.

Fast forward to now and I am currently pregnant with twins and due in Feb 2024. However due to complications we believe they could arrive much sooner, complications have resulted in multiple hospital visits including 2 blood transfusions and this has left me unable to sustain a job.

On top of this we have recently been told that Tom’s cancer has returned and now spread and is currently in his liver, lymph nodes and bone marrow. He has a mass on the base of his spine which is preventing him from sitting for more than 5 to 10 minutes at a time. The amount of pain he is in prevents him from being able to continue with daily tasks and has resulted in him needing to stop work.

He has now completed 5 rounds of radiation therapy to try and reduce the mass and will begin more chemotherapy in the coming weeks to try and prevent the cancer from spreading further.

We have a beautiful nearly 3 year old daughter who we are trying to keep things as normal as possible for. Unfortunately this is not her first time going through this however she is older now and is starting to understand that Daddy is very sick.

We aren’t the type to generally ask for help however this time it has really hit us hard. We thank you for taking the time to read our story and even if you can't help in a financial capacity, please share our story as someone else may be able to.
