Amara is a spunky, ever-cheerful kindergarten girl who loves her friends and her school with all her heart. Recently, her family learned that she has a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. Amara has not been able to attend school for the past couple of weeks, and her classmates and teachers miss her bright smile and joyful presence every day.

Many in our community know the Porter family well. Marc, Amara’s father, has served our school faithfully, supporting students as an educational assistant and sharing his gifts through teaching music and physical education. He is currently on a leave of absence so he can be fully present with his family during this time.

Now, we have the opportunity to surround this family with the same love and care they have given to so many.

This fundraiser exists to support Marc, Shandelee, and Amara during this difficult season. Funds raised will help provide for medical needs, practical daily expenses, meaningful family time, and moments that bring comfort, laughter, and joy to Amara’s days.
