Imagine living in a village where nightfall means complete darkness, where families struggle without power, and where keeping food fresh is nearly impossible. In Bagungi, Kinshasa, Congo, this is the daily reality. But together, we can change that.

The 7 Blessings Project Foundation is working to bring solar power to Bagungi—providing light, refrigeration, and a future filled with possibilities.

Why Solar Power?

Without electricity, families are forced to rely on warm, quickly spoiling food and struggle to keep water cold in the extreme heat. Our small store supplies essential food items like chicken necks and backs, fish, and bottled drinks, but without a reliable freezer or refrigeration, food spoils too quickly, causing waste and financial loss.

By installing solar-powered freezers and lighting, we can:

✅ Preserve food longer, ensuring families have access to fresh, nutritious meals.

✅ Keep drinking water & juice cold, a necessity in the heat.

✅ Provide reliable lighting, so children can study and families can safely navigate at night.

✅ Support local businesses, allowing the village store to store and sell perishable goods.

✅ Reduce reliance on expensive, unreliable fuel sources.

Cost Breakdown

Our total budget for this project is $15,000 CAD (~$10,950 USD). We aim to raise $10,000 USD to cover these expenses and ensure the successful completion of this project.

1. Solar System Expansion

• Solar Panels: 10 units at $140 USD each → $1,400 USD

• Batteries: 4 units at $280 USD each → $1,120 USD

• Converter: 1 unit at $500 USD

• Miscellaneous Parts: $300 USD

• Electrician Fees: 30% of total material costs → $990 USD

2. New Freezer

• Commercial Freezer: $2,000 USD

3. Second Water Tank and Hookup

• Water Tank & Installation: $1,700 USD

4. Store Restock

• Inventory Restock: $2,440 USD

 We are currently supporting 150 families, 175 children, and 26 widows, while also providing medical assistance to children whose families cannot afford care. At the same time, we are working hard to build an orphanage to provide a safe and loving home for vulnerable children in our community.
