Hi, my name is Kyra, and my fiance is Jeff. We just gave birth to our little rainbow baby, Hallie Hope Payne, on April 21st, 2022. On March 9th, we found that Kyra had more fluid than usual, and Fort Hospital wanted to refer us to a specialist that would do another anatomy ultrasound and help us figure out why. March 16th we found out that Hallie had a blockage in the bottom part of her stomach that was prohibiting her from swallowing. With this, Hallie would need surgery shortly after birth. Also, with extra amounts of fluid, Kyra had regular contractions almost daily. The following two weeks were spent in and out of the hospital. We eventually got referred to Meriter up in Madison, WI and went over how delivery and Hallies first few weeks of life would look like. On March 30th we had our first doctors appointment with the new doctors, here we were told that Kyra was 3 cm dialated. With all the extra fluid came risks for complications such as her water breaking early and the umbilical cord falling out before Hallie or placenta obrubtion. In both cases it would mean emergency C-section, living 45 min from our hospital we chose to stay until Hallie made her apperance. After many days and nights of painful contractions and a fluid reduction later, we had made no progress after 17 days. The doctors felt that Kyra was stable enough to go home, so on April 15th they got to spend Easter weekend home with family. Their next doctors appointment was on April 20th and you guessed it, they were told it was unsafe to go home and were being induced 4 days early!
Hallie Hope Payne was born April 21st 2022 at 5:25 am weighing 6lbs 7oz.
Her surgery was the following morning and went perfectly. Over the past 3 weeks she has been working on her cordination with her swallowing and eating. Hallie is still in the hospital and we are unsure of when she will be able to go home.
We are normally not the type to ask people for money, however the truth is we are struggling. Many people have asked us how they can help and we figured this would be an easy way for people to help out with gas, food, and bills. We have quickly learned how big of a support system we have through this experiance and are grateful for every single person that has already helped us with money and all the prayers! We will appriciate everything donated to our family in this time of need.
