Not one of my usual posts but as the winter weather is coming to an end, I’m reaching out with a heartfelt appeal. In @mendicity.dublin , we are currently experiencing a significant need for clothing donations to support those facing homelessness, particularly items for men. Your wardrobe cleanse could be a beacon of hope for someone in need. We aren’t looking for fashion, just practical items like shoes, hoodies, trackies, shirts, socks, underwear, and coats.

Irrespective of our individual perspectives, it is a fundamental truth that we share our humanity. In my role, where I am privileged to work alongside individuals from all walks of life, I have witnessed firsthand that the essence of personhood is not dictated by one’s social or economic standing. Those whom society often overlooks, the individuals who find themselves in less fortunate circumstances, are every bit as human as those born into privilege. Each person carries with them a unique narrative, rich with experience and emotion. More often than not, it is a mere twist of fate—an accident of birth—that has placed them on their challenging paths. Let us remember this shared humanity and extend our understanding and empathy to all.

We are graciously accepting any wearable shoes, clothing, as well as essential items such as tents, sleeping bags, toiletries, and blankets. Your contributions, large or small, will make a profound difference in the lives of those who are struggling on the streets of Dublin.
