Hi my name is Tanya Lightbody. My brother in law was Shawn Friedenberger and my sister is Teresa.

Life is precious and, while we know this, it is hard to imagine experiencing the sudden loss of a father and husband who, just days ago, was a vibrant force in the life of his family.

Shawn Friedenberger was at his youngest child’s Christmas concert on Friday, December 15 and that night needed to be taken to the hospital. He was extremely sick from influenza and ultimately taken from his family by a deadly Strep A infection on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

His wife Teresa and his three children Alex, Tyler, and Casey will be managing this shocking and untimely loss as they navigate a path forward without Shawn, but with each other and with the enveloping support of a community of friends and family who have reached out.
