“We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something.
-Mother Teresa

Kris, Blake and the boys have been dealt a rough hand over the last few months and it has finally came to a peak. Blake has been suffering with sickness for a long while and his condition finally got bad enough he was hospitalized for over a week.

Blake started suffering from flu like symptoms about 3 months ago that progressed into extreme fatigue with a sever sore throat and aversion to smells and taste. It was making it very difficult for him to eat and have any quality of life whatsoever.

After several doctors trips, test after test and many medicines, he started becoming dizzy, having heart palpitations and having shortness of breath. His family doctor ordered an EKG and did some blood work. Very early the following morning, the nurse called and informed him he needed to go straight to the emergency room as he was literally on the brink of death.

His blood counts were dangerously low along with his blood pressure. The doctors ran multiple tests trying to figure out what the issue was. They began blood transfusions to help improve his blood counts. They tested him for everything under the sun, including a very painful bone marrow biopsy to rule out cancer. Days of unknowns and no answers on the horizon. He is a literal mystery. Even though he has finally been released, he still has a long road ahead of him with specialists and continuous blood transfusions. He could end up right back in the hospital at any moment.

Friends and family have been a great help to Kris and the boys over the last two weeks, but unfortunately they are in a financial situation with Blake being unable to work and Kris having to run back and forth to the hospital. To make matters even worse, Kris is a teacher and she hasn’t had a paycheck the whole summer. School is about to start back and Kris will be back to work and will need to pay for childcare for a few weeks. With Blake still healing, they will also need help with meals to pull them through this.

I am posting this fundraiser because asking for help is the absolute hardest thing to do and there was a time in my life when I had to ask for help and Kris and Blake were some of the first people to be there for me. They are our family and I would do anything I could to help them take care of each other and my sweet Oliver and Elliott.

Unfortunately I am in SC and my ability to help is extremely limited. I am doing the most I can by asking for help for this sweet family that I love with all my heart. Every tiny bit will help them pay for the many specialist visits on the horizon, gas money and any other expenses they are going to struggle with paying.

Thank you for any help you give and for all of your positive thoughts for Kris, Blake and the boys.
