Please Read This!

This may be the hardest letter I have ever needed to write. To start, for those who do not know our current situation, I will give a brief overview, and then write what it is you can do to help. This may be long. Please read it until the end.

Overveiw:

We have a sublet situation of people who refuse to leave our basement. They have no legal right to stay, and yes we have a lawyer helping us. They were given all the paperwork that was needed in a more than timely fashion. The landlord/tenent board granted an immediate eviction early this year in January. However, our basement people demanded a hearing due to extenuating circumstances. There are no extenuating circumstances.

The hearing was June 27th. They showed up claiming that they were not informed of the hearing and requesting a delay so that they could prepare. The adjudicator actually granted it. I received the email this morning of the new hearing date. It is Dec. 24th!!!!!

The current situation:

This is unconscionable! Abi and I are living in Cambridge with my Uncle, while Doug and LIz hold down the fort at home. We have $3500 in back rent owing our landlord due to this situation. I owe over $1000 on our water bill. If I don’t pay our full rent every month from now on we will be evicted. However, if I pay full rent, then I can’t buy groceries or pay other bills.

How can you help:

1. PRAY! God always hears and answers prayer.

2. I need financial help. If you are or know of someone who could donate funds to us (whether large or tiny amounts), please be in touch.

3. Another option would be to provide grocery store gift cards. At least that way we could buy groceries.

4. If we are evicted, or we choose to abandon our home, I will need help with finding somewhere for the 4 of us (myself, my husband and our two teens, as well as our two dogs) to stay temporarily, and finding a location to store our stuff. I will also need the physical help to relocate all of our things.

Desparation:

Please understand how desperate this situation is. This is me pleading with you, my friends and family, to help me. I have been asking for help from various sources for over a decade, usually receiving none. To those who have been able to help us over the years, I give you my heartfelt thanks.

WE ARE IN DIRE NEED OF FINANCIAL HELP!
