Hi, my name is Gregory Jativa and i go to NKHS and i am a sophomore this year, graduating in 2024. The reason why i started this gofundme is because me and my family have suffered from a house fire that burnt down our childhood home and sadly killed our pet. Sassy was a cat who was trapped inside our house while me and my brother were running out of our house from all the smoke. Sassy was 3 years old and always loved to be there for me when i got mad at my mom and brother and somtimes life. She made me feel like she was always there for me and cared for me. I will never forget her.
I woke up to my room clouded with smoke and couldn’t breath and wanted to get my brother out of the house. It hurt me so much leaving her after many failed attempts of finding her and believe me i just wanted to know if she was safe. I wish i could say she died peacefully but i truly dont know. It truly broke me apart even thinking about her in pain cause all she brought into this world was love. My last memory of her was her on my lap as i went to sleep to be later woken up by smoke and fire alarms. I lost my best friend today.
 

This year me and my brother also got into a car crash the almost killed us and would’ve left a single mom without any boys in a empty house. That week was hard for all of us. From my point of view, i was depressed and lonely and didnt feel comfortable living and grades started slipping. For my mom she was just happy we were safe. And my brother acted like it was nothing. And i dont know if its just me but us people who don’t really like to show emotion, life gets harder because of it. Building it up dosen’t make it go away. I love my family and friends and want to put them in a better place want to keep there heads high instead of looking at everything thats bad in our lives and focus on the good. In this fire i’ve lost alot of many important things that money can’t replace but the things many can replace will be for our family and how it would make our lives easier in the future and put us in a good place. I love and appreciate everyone who donated. And if you didnt donate just spread kindness and show people and pets some your love before they’re gone.
