Hi, my name is Courtney and I am fundraising for a very dear friend and his family.

His family would love any support you can give to help them through these very tough and challenging times.

From the family: “On February 2, our lives were turned upside down. Paul unfortunately made a mistake and did not turn in a bomb threat note that he found in his class and attempted to place it so another staff member would find it. The police came to our house and arrested Paul, and he was in jail until the 4th. He was released on bond and is facing a 1-year misdemeanor charge for a false threat against the district. He had to resign from his teaching position, a job he was so very passionate about. Going forward this has brough to light many mental health issues that Paul has been dealing with internally. Paul has been battling depression on and off since about college and has been in and out of treatment as well. Unfortunately, Paul was not in a good place mentally and therefore was not thinking clearly when he failed to turn in this note. This whole situation has been hard on our family, mostly emotionally, but also will be financially. Paul is currently in a day treatment program in order to get himself the help he greatly needs to get his mental health back on track. The admin know Paul did not write the note and those of us who know Paul best know he did not and would never write a threat to his school. Those of us who know Paul know that he has struggled with mental health issues for a while. It is not easy for us to ask for help, but we as a family have seen an outpouring of support and love from friends near and far and so we are humbling ourselves and letting one of those friends set up this Go Fund Me for us in order to give others an opportunity to help us. We appreciate the support and love and keep it coming as pretrial date is coming up. Thank you so much, the Jacobs Family”

Paul is truly a gem of a person. I would not ask on their behalf if I didn’t wholeheartedly believe, love, and support him and his family.
