Wanted to Thank everyone who prayed for me this last hospital stay. My neurologist said he is positive it was a second spinal cord stroke. This time it took total control of my left leg and some of my memory. The MRI of my brain shows more white brain matter compared to my last stroke, which can be from this stroke or Lupus flare. I also have to be on oxygen 24/7 now.

It has really taken a toll on me mentally and physically and emotionally.

I now have home health care taking care of me when Tim is at work; I have a PT, CNA and RN who will be coming in to care for me.

God has provided for us in ways we can’t imagine. The only thing we need now is a power wheelchair.

We are reaching out on behalf of Amanda Garrett and her family, who have been facing significant challenges due to Amanda's long-standing battle with Lupus. This autoimmune disease has taken a severe toll on her health, and recently, she experienced her second spinal cord stroke within a year, resulting in paralysis from the waist down. Her husband, Tim, a dedicated teacher in District 70, is the family's sole provider and cannot take time off work to support Amanda during this critical period. The family is in urgent need of assistance, as Tim hopes to be able to step away from his job to aid Amanda in her rehabilitation process. In order for him to do that, we need your help!

First off I want to say THANK YOU for those of you who have been praying for me.

Tuesday morning around 1 am I started having severe spine pain that radiated into my legs and arms, by the time the ambulance came I had zero feeling in my left leg and left arm. I can not lift them and they are extremely weak and tingly/numb. The neurologist and hospitalist are certain I have had another Spinal Cord Stroke.

I’m undergoing several tests at the moment. Lots of new meds and some strong pain medications because my normal things aren’t working anymore.

Needless to say Tim and I are very stressed out. He needs to work to cover the daily cost of living and bills. But I also need him here with me for major life decisions and support.

He is stressed and I’m scared.

Please pray for us. This has really changed our life in a flash.
