Hi, my name is Emily and I am raising funds for the medical expenses of the family of Noel Oliva. As some of you know, Noel has been sick for many years. 4 years ago he started the liver transplant journey. After being listed for a liver transplant, Noel went into vtach and almost lost his life. He was then diagnosed with heart failure and was told that he would not survive the liver transplant due to the condition of his heart. He now needed a liver AND heart transplant. After many trips from the Desert to San Diego for appointments, procedures, and bloodwork, Noel was hospitalized on January 6, 2023. During this hospitalization, he was told that he would not be leaving the hospital unless his bloodwork improved or he received a heart and liver transplant. After what medical staff refers to as 3, "dry runs" where they are told there is a donor but at the last minute does not work out, on February 22nd at 12:30 AM, their plans were answered. Noel went into the operating room for a new heart and liver. He is now in ICU recovering and doing well. Due to Noels' health conditions, Caren has been the sole provider. The doctors anticipate Noel being in recovery in San Diego for approximately 90 days. Their family has spent an incredible amount of money on travel expenses, not including medical expenses. Here is some background info so that you know where your money is going: In hotel stays alone the family has already spent over 10k. This family is incredible and would give you the shirts off their back. Noel and Caren have a 10-year-old daughter named Lluvia. Noel also has 3 other children; Cielo 31, JR 29 and Luna 22.
