After getting a chest infection, Leslie Buhr, married father of 2, suddenly became acutely ill and was admitted to hospital. At first it looked like a straightforward medical regimen would yield good results and he would be discharged soon and continue his wait for a double lung transplant. Unfortunately, he worsened, suddenly and drastically. After being fitted with a BIPAP breathing apparatus, he had to be transferred to a higher level of care outside Creston.
On the way, via High Acuity Risk Team (HART) personnel, he deteriorated and was subsequently intubated and put into a coma.
His wife and most of the family members are coming to be with Muriel to support her. They have to travel from outside Canada, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and all over BC and not all are able to financially manage it.
Muriel is trying of course, but all the transportation, flights, hotels and meals needed will become expensive.
Muriel and Les have hearts of gold and have always given away as much as they could to assist others less fortunate than themselves. The charity work Muriel has done has been incredible and Les has supported her all the way. His motto is “if we can feed wealthy people in our home, we can feed the less fortunate too.” This financial burden is one they should not have to carry while they spend their time with their beloved Les. Please give any little bit you can to assist them. They would never ask for themselves as that is not their way, but we their friends know they need help and would greatly appreciate any support given.
