Our daughter, Adlyn, was referred here to the Children's Hospital in Denver last week. She has since been diagnosed with stage 3 or 4 of an aggressive form of cancer, which is going to require immediate treatment. Though not all testing is final, we have been told to expect that she will need to stay in Denver for the next six weeks as she gets treatments. It's thought that after the first six weeks that we will be able to bring her home for the first time.

 

She is scheduled for 42 weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatments. This will require weekly trips back to Denver, or possibly Salt Lake / Billings.

 

Please do not feel like this information has to remain confidential. We feel that the more pathways of support can open for Adlyn in the community, the better.

 

Adlyn maintains a fighting spirit, and views all of this as a big inconvenience, which is keeping her from going to school, seeing her friends, and going to track practice. She is handling this better than we are, and she continues to keep us strong. Adlyn will handle this in a true Adlyn spirit and she wants people to know that she isn't sick, she just has this problem she needs to fix and the doctors here have a plan to get her better.
