Hi, my name is Jana and I am fundraising for the Daley Family.
Jordyn—Toni & John’s oldest daughter went from being a healthy 13 year-old to suffering with intense GI symptoms, unable to eat or drink and dealing with debilitating pain everyday.
She has been battling stomach issues since the beginning of Februay, with a lot of blood in her stool.
Sunday, March 20th Jordyn was very weak wasn’t really eating or drinking and just not herself. Toni called her doctor the following Monday. They advised Toni to bring her to The Childrens Hospital where they would admit her so they could run some tests. (Colonoscopy and an endoscope).
When Jordyn arrived Monday, she was very weak and she hadn’t eaten much of anything in a week. She also wasn’t drinking. While in the emergency room Jordyn passed out due to extreme dehydration.
Jordyn was admitted Monday, March 21st to The Childrens Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. So far they have done a colonoscopy, an endoscope and MRE. They also took biopsies and have confirmed it is ulcerative colitis.
She has been put on steroids for inflammation but unfortunately has not responded to them. They recently started her on biologicals called Remicade, she had her first infusion on March 28th. They have seen a little improvement in the amount of times she needs to go to the bathroom however, she has lost a tremendous amount of blood and her hemoglobin is low. Jordyn had to receive a blood transfusion.
She has been since given a second dose of Remicade and she also received another blood transfusion because her hemoglobin has remained low.
As of right now we do not know when Jordyn will be discharged from hospital. It will be a long waiting game to see if she will respond to treatments.
Toni and John have been by her side nonstop taking turns at the hospital and at home with their other daughter Taylor. Unfortunately Toni is unable to work as she is the main person at the hospital with her during the week.
At this point, we don’t know what Jordyn’s medical bills will look like since she is still in the hospital as of the posting of this story.
Asking for help is not something that anyone wants to do and believe me nobody wants to be healthy and get back to living life more than Jordyn and her family do.
Please consider helping. If you are not able to help financially, your prayers are welcome and appreciated.
