Friday morning, we were all getting ready for the day and noticed how cold it was in our home. We turned the furnace on and noticed the normal “burning” smell that comes along with that. There was some smoke that we thought was strange, but we didn’t hear any alarms or know anything was wrong. Until our youngest went into the pantry and noticed how strong the smoke smell was. When we opened the door into the garage, black smoke billowed in. We rushed to get everyone out and called 911. We watched the firemen work effortlessly to contain the fire and vent the smoke. We still have no idea what the actual cause was. There will be an investigation. We are so blessed to be healthy and safe. We lost both of our vehicles, down to the frames, along with everything in our garage completely burned to a crisp. We spoke with our restoration company, and they are saying due to the soot and smoke damage, we will lose everything inside our home as well. This can take anywhere from 6-12 months. Being displaced will be challenging, and we do have insurance, but we also know they will only pay for a percentage of things. If you know us, you know it is incredibly hard to ask for help.
Our family is safe and healthy. We are processing things as it hits us in waves. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, and we appreciate your continued prayers during this holiday season.
BE BLESSED AND HUG YOUR FAMILY.
