Update; I’ve now spoken to the vet who checked Tara over.
She has high white blood cell count and anaemia. Together with the diarrhoea, blood in stools and huge apetite this could either be very severe Irritable Bowel Disease or its Intestinal Lymphoma.
She has been prescribed a six week course of steroids which will either solve the diarrhoea (alongside an hypoallergenic diet), in which case we will know it’s IBD or if the steroids only work at the start but the stools remain soft, this will indicate it’s Intestinal Lymphoma.

She has started on her special diet and steroids today. I imaging she is already feeling better now the Nexguard has killed her fleas and tummy pain should start to ease soon.

She’s on a heat pad which she is enjoying.

We took in Tara yesterday from a multi at household. We were told she had a skin condition but when she arrived we could see she was also very skinny and absolutely ravenous. She ate two pouches of wet food and a large bowl of cat biscuits straight away. She has eaten everything put in front of her.
we believe she has an underlying health condition which may be thyroid issues. She is at the vets this evening and will probably have bloods taken for testing.
We are struggling to cover the cost of vet bills at the moment. The last thing we needed is another cat with ongoing vet costs but she is here now and we’re glad she is with us as she desperately needs help.
Please help towards vet costs if you can. I will update as soon as I know more.
