Donate to help Svitlana's family

Hello, my name is James Harden ([email redacted]). I am a retired federal employee married to a Ukrainian. The purpose of this GoFundMe is to raise money to help my wife’s family in her hometown of Chernihiv, Ukraine. Russian troops bombed Chernihiv for more than a month starting in February, 2022. The Russian troops are now gone and Chernihiv, a once beautiful, peaceful town lies in ruins.

Because of all the destruction, the people of Cheynihiv are having great difficulty. They have little or no money for food or other basics. Most of these people are not producing income since losing their jobs to the war. The war has also caused very high food prices.

Any amount you give will help. I'm trying to help 21 people in Svitlana's family, 2 of which are babies, and one is 4. One man in the family recently had his hip replaced (believe it or not they're still doing surgeries in Chernihiv) and he can't buy medicine. 100% of the donations raised here will be distributed to my wife’s Chernihiv, Ukraine family. Your donation will go directly from me to needy Chernihiv residents via Money Gram at Walmart. I can make transaction details available upon request.

If Ukrainians are going to survive this war they need urgent humanitarian aid.

We're very happy about the donations coming in. Our plan is that once we reach $10,000 we'll make a distribution of $2,000 to each of 5 mothers in Svitlana's family (Julia, Leana, Ludmilla, Nastia, Olga). They will use the money to keep their families alive.
