Hello my dear friends,

I am Derya, I moved to London from Turkey a while ago for a better future and living conditions for myself and my 17 years old daughter as most you have done so. I am resided in UK with ECAA Turkish Business Person Visa, also known as Ankara Agreement Visa. I am living in London with my daughter for more than 3 years now. We all had some difficult times during pandemic and we were just going back to our normal life but I have been shocked with the serious health problem. I have been diagnosed as colon cancer on March 2022 in London and because of the pandemic I havent been accepted by my gp doctor or hospitals even I had very serious pains before the actual diagnose in March, I have tried to be seen by a doctor since July 2021 and I have only been seen in Fenruary 2022. And this long process has rendered my disease even worse and I was on stage 4 already when I have been diagnosed. I have only been given just one dose of chemo and then been told that my body is not answering the treatment been sent back to home. I have been given 2 options by the doctor in a relentless way that either have a very dangereous surgery in a hopeless way, or go home and spend the rest of the time with my family.

I decided to go Turkey and with the support of my sister and friends in Turkey, we decided ro contuniue the treatment in Istanbul University Capa Hospital. I have had all of the tests just in 2 days and had a serious operation in this hospital. I have been having chemo since then for 6 months.

However, while we say eveything is going well, I had a serious infection and my doctor stopped chemo because this has caused my body to be weaker.

I will need to have another surgery now but only team who can operate this surgery is in Memorial Hospital managed by a Professor Doctor who has had a very good experience in this area. As its a private hospital, unfortunately the amount I will have to pay is not in a level I or my family would manage to meet.
