On Sunday November 5th Mirissa and Ricky were in a situation no parent wants to be in. Their sweet two year old daughter Remi was in a terrible mower accident. An ambulance was called but the paramedics immediately called for an emergency helicopter lift to CHOP. From there Remi had emergency surgery to save her arm.

The doctors told Mirissa and Ricky that the severe damage to her left arm is going to take multiple surgeries to repair as well as PT/OT down the road. They do not have an exact amount of time for how long they will be needing to stay but are praying to be home by Christmas.

During this time Mirissa, who is a PCA at KDM elementary, and Ricky, who is a mailman, will not be working. They are both hoping to be able stay by their daughter’s side in the hospital during these traumatic times while she undergoes multiple surgeries. Remis surgeons will need to do multiple skin graft procedures, as well as rebuild/ attach the forearm muscles and fix her elbow and elbow joint. They have very high hopes that since she is so young they will be able to reattach new soft tissue and muscles where there is missing ones and reattach the nerves and ligaments to give her mobility again. Remi is going through something no child should ever have to experience and her parents want nothing more than to be there to help and support their daughter while she faces these hard times.

Mirissa and Ricky just purchased their first home this year, as well as welcomed another sweet baby into the world. No one is ever ready financially for something like this, but given the timing and position they are in they could really use some help.
