Donate to help Stormie heartworm treatments

Hi, we are The Foleys and this fundraiser has been created for Stormie, a beautiful young pitty that we fostered, along with her 12 puppies for a local rescue organization. We never expected to be in this situation and had no idea just how expensive fostering a dog(s) could be. We were told the foster experience would be free and all the support we would need. The decision to even take the dogs seemed to have been made and happened very quickly. After multiple days of seeing the social media posts pleading for someone to help, I showed my wife on October 5th and by the next evening the dogs were already moved into our home. As first-time fosters, we trusted that we were doing a wonderful thing in helping to support a great organization.

All of the foster puppies have moved on except for Stormie and one puppy. For months we have taken on the care and financial burden of these dogs after we were left to incur these responsibilities when it wasn't being provided for by the rescue. In early December, Stormie was diagnosed with heartworms & began treatment immediately. She just had her x-rays taken and is approved to move forward with the heartworm treatments.

We are not a rescue. We do not have hundreds or thousands of followers to reach out to for help. We do not have thousands of dollars just sitting in our account to cover all of the unexpected vetting fees that we have been paying for months now. We are simply first-time fosters who are taking responsibility for the care this dog needs. We need help very much! At this time our vet bills just for this one foster alone has reached over $2000 and we have been the ways left responsible for paying for it.

Our vet has provided us with an estimate that on the high end will be around $1500 and we are asking for support in covering these costs. She is an amazingly sweet girl and has already come so far since the first day we met her. She deserves every chance at an amazing life. Once she has finished heartworm treatments we will be registering her with a trainer since she was rescued as a feral dog and has behavioral challenges that are outside of our skills. It is our mission to have her healthy and ready for her own forever home very soon!
