As some of you know, my husband just had to have emergency surgery. We went to the hospital after he had MAJOR pain and other symptoms and they told him he had a large obstruction in his bowel. They did surgery immediately and they found severe diverticulitis througout with a fistula which means the diverticulitis has created a tunnel in the colon.

They're not sure if it is cancer as they can't see the obstruction because his bowel is enflamed and twisted. If it is cancer, they think it is contained and it can he be removed.

They had to close off the colon and reroute it to a colostomy bag which he will have a few months. He will have to have another major surgery to remove part of the colon and the obstruction and put things back. He will also have to have a nurse that comes to out to our house twice a week.

Needless to say he is having a hard time adjusting to this new life.

He will be down and out of work for 6 months or longer. Because he is a handyman and works for himself, getting financial help from a program is unfortunately not an option.

We are desperate and HATE asking for help but we really have no choice at this point. I am trying to work two jobs but it still isn't cutting it.

If you can help please do, if not no worries we understand that people are probably strapped like us. I just thought I would try for him.

He is so stressed out and worried about how we're going to get all of our bills paid. I want to try and take that stress from him and have him focus on recovering.
