This GoFundMe page has been set up by friends of the McHale family in hopes of relieving the enormous financial burden associated with Todd’s fight to recover from multiple strokes and surgery. Todd has honorably served this nation as a federal law enforcement officer for the past 23 years in both the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice and is currently an Assistant Special Agent in Charge with the Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General. Todd’s wife is also a dedicated public servant, currently serving as a Police Officer with the Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department.
In late February, Todd was rushed to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms. Over the course of the following two weeks, Todd suffered additional unexplained strokes and was urgently airlifted to a larger hospital in Atlantic City, NJ, where he continued to form clots that would then travel into his brain. The physicians were baffled as to the origin of the clots and why they were forming, as Todd is a young and extremely healthy person. Unfortunately, on March 7th, Todd suffered another setback with bleeding in his brain, and subsequent brain swelling requiring significant emergency surgery. The funds will be extremely helpful in offsetting the McHale family’s extensive medical and lengthy rehabilitation costs to get Todd back on his feet and return to work.
