Hi, my name is Jess and I am helping raise money to get Solomon Sisay a new saxophone.
On Wednesday July 24, some thieves broke into his premises in Footscray and stole his Temby Vintage Raw Brass Tenor Saxophone. They also stole a bunch of tools belonging to the builder who is working on making the premises into Sol's new restaurant and live music venue.
Due to living in an apartment, Sol uses the site to practise. He believed it was safe to leave his instrument there, however the thieves were able to smash a window and get inside.
If you have heard Solomon play, you know how gifted he is. He brings so much joy to the community through his mastery of Ethio-Jazz. He performs his original tunes and the Golden Age classics with his amazing band of musicians. They have a number of gigs coming up, including the Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival, so he needs to get his hands on a new instrument asap!
Let's get the world hearing Sol's gift again!
