Help My Sister Shelley Recover From Chemotherapy

My sister Shelley Grabowski Naivar's first rounds of chemo/radiation cancer treatment started back in October of 2020. Almost two years later, Shelley completed the second round of even more intensive chemotherapy after some cancerous lymph nodes were found to have been missed by the first treatment. The bills are piling up.

Thank you so much for helping Shelley get by in this tumultuous time in her life. Words of encouragement, prayers and well wishes are always welcome and essential to supporting a loved one through hard times. However, in the coming weeks and months, Shelley will need financial support to help continue to pay down her growing medical expenses and everyday costs of living while being unable to work after yet another surgery necessary to remove the remaining lymph nodes affected by cancer.

 

While this next surgery may only have her in the hospital for a few days, it could be longer. Then, once out of the hospital, she will likely be recovering at home for several more days, if not weeks. Although Shelley has a great job that has been very supportive of her situation, it seems that her absence may necessitate her being placed on unpaid leave or even let go during this critical stage of her healing, as most, if not all of her paid leave has been used during her cancer treatments. Honestly, it's nothing short of miraculous that Shelley has been able to not only find gainful employment while fighting advanced stage cancer throughout the pandemic, but also to be able to work nearly full time through much of it, and excel on the job! Her fighting spirit and will to persevere is an inspiration to everyone who knows Shelley personally. Shelley and I, along with our older brother Charles also lost our father April of 2021.

 

So, again, thank you so much for spending the time it took to get to this point. Shelley's family and friends all know that fighting cancer can become a lifetime of struggle. But, sometimes it's necessary to fight one battle at a time. Right now, the battle that needs to be won is giving Shelley the gift of not having to worry about paying her bills through this critical time in her struggle.
