Hi my name is Kathy Beaton Reh. Many of you already know Shawn and Molly Taylor. Shawn was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. His diagnosis is grim and we wanted to help. It has been Shawn's wish to get to show his two boys Wyoming and Colorado so they could see where he grew up. Let's help him with this wish since he doesn't have much time. :(
From Molly: Shawn and I first met when I was 5, and he was 8. When I was 14 my diary entry was "I'm in love with Shawn Taylor." We dated; we fell in love. Life took us different directions, but by the grace of God we were reunited in 2000. Married in 2002; had Dalton in 2003 and Benjamin in 2005. Shawn is a proud Union Ironworker (Local 433, Las Vegas) and has provided a stable home where I could stay at home and raise the boys. We've had a good life and always had a great time. We have good friends and love being with family. The four of us are thick as thieves, and there is so much love in our house. Shawn has been a surrogate dad to so many of the boys' friends; together we call about 20 boys and 2 girls "our kids."
Shawn was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer on March 20, 2022. The doctor gives him 6 months if he doesn't do chemo, up to 18 months if he does. We're going to give it a try, but believe we'll choose quality over quantity and chemo won't last long.
Shawn wants to take a road trip as a family. He wants to show they boys the beauty of Colorado and Wyoming. We have so many loved ones on the route we can celebrate Shawn's life over and over which is exactly what we want to do.
We can use help financially. It is hard to ask, but this is where we are. We have no income as of right now, we will be living off of savings and that won't last very long. We desperately want to be able to spend this time with Shawn and be happy and thankful for his life. I have a career path planned and the boys and I will be fine in the future. We need help now to show this amazing human being now how much he means to so many people, and all of the love he's given is deeply appreciated.
