Hi, my name is Kwame Koda and I’m fundraising for Kweku Ananse, a short film inspired by the legendary Ghanaian folktale character.
This project aims to bring one of Africa’s most iconic stories to life through cinema, blending traditional folklore with a modern, comedic and cinematic approach. Kweku Ananse is more than a film it is a celebration of Ghanaian culture, storytelling, and imagination.
Within a year now, I have personally written, shot, and fully funded three short films out of my own pocket, driven purely by passion for storytelling and filmmaking. Each project has helped me grow creatively and technically, and now I’m ready to take the next step.
With Kweku Ananse, the goal is to do something bigger and better to elevate the production quality, expand the creative scope, and bring this iconic African story to life at a level that can stand confidently on the international stage.
The funds raised will go directly into production, including cast and crew, costumes and production design, professional sound and cinematography, and post-production to ensure the film meets international film and festival standards.
With your support, this film will help preserve and share African folklore with a global audience, inspiring both young and old while opening doors for African stories to be seen on the world stage.
Thank you for helping me share the story of Kweku Ananse with the world.
