Donate to Help Sean Beat Grade 4 Astrocytoma
Donation protected
Less than a year after being married in June of 2021 to his wife Christa, my 30 year old nephew Sean experienced a seizure for the first time in May 2022. This led to the discovery of a "cyst" which after being resected and sent for pathology turned out to be cancerous. Sean was diagnosed with brain cancer called Astrocytoma. After his surgery he went through radiation and chemotherapy treatments which gave him good results. In February of 2023, Sean had a second craniotomy to remove some tumor regrowth (after experiencing seizures once a week since December of 2022). As a result of this surgery, Sean experienced some loss of physical strength in his right hand.
This past November of 2023, Sean’s MRI showed a new growth. As a result of this new growth, Sean has lost full functionality of his right arm and leg and is experiencing speech issues. Sean is going to need more treatment which will require him and Christa to travel to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and stay for six weeks. It was at this point when Sean and Christa decided they needed help from their family, friends, and community.
We created this fundraiser so that Sean can get the support he needs to help with his fight. Sean is a strong, young man and a fighter! His attitude is that he is going to fight with everything he has in him.
People have been reaching out asking how to help Sean get through this trying time. We kindly ask you to show your love and support in one of these ways:
Prayers & Positive Thoughts - please send your prayers and positive thoughts to Sean on his path to healing, with an emphasis on visualizing his full recovery to good health!
Financial Contributions to this GoFundMe fundraiser - funds raised will help to cover Sean’s treatment at MD Anderson as well as his travel and living expenses (healthy meals, transportation ,insurance copays, utility bills, etc.). Any amount raised will be used to enhance Sean’s health and quality of life.
Recommendations - if you have any advice or recommendations for treatment options or steps you or a loved one took on the path to remission, we would greatly appreciate any and all input.
While we are staying positive, this has deeply affected our family. Thank you for all your love and support during this very difficult time. With your help, we have hope that Sean will be able to get better.
