It's been 7 successful years since we started Schweet Original Homemade Chicago Cheesecake in 2016. One of our brand slogans is "Food That Does Good", because we promised to do something good in every community that we touched with our artisan pastry. So, our family-owned business is continuing with that pledge by expanding into markets that welcome us as the destination product that we have proven to be! We became a hit with tourists, we were the first model for the digital microbusiness before the pandemic, and we opened a 1,000 square foot bakery - at the height of the pandemic. We're resilient, creative and always on the move. As a family-owned business this charge can be difficult. This is why we are asking The Village (fans, friends and the broader community) to consider donating to our Go Fund Me Campaign in support of our movement to scale to the next level. We've got friends and plans in place. To breakdown the cost effort, know that in 2024, your dollars will help us to:
- $5K: Offer our artisan cheesecakes in The Market of Lake Geneva, where a portion of sales will benefit the dynamic non-profit called Join The Movement to Stop Human Trafficking). They work to educate about and stop human trafficking.
- $5K: Support our amazing 2nd summer culinary internship program, where for 6 weeks we train eager teens in food retail sales in support of their very own product.
- $15K: To outfit and staff our very first food truck, as we touch various Chicago communities with not only our cheesecake, but our artisan lemonades, too. We'll be providing work opportunities for underserved adults, and feeling darned good about it!
