“Saxon has always been a light in our lives, the kind of boy whose smile could brighten even the heaviest day.

But behind that smile, he has fought battles no child should ever face. Years ago, he was full of energy and adventure, until the signs began to show. Tiredness, bruises, changes we couldn’t explain. Then came the words that shattered our world

“Your son has cancer.”

Since then, Saxon has endured more than most adults will in a lifetime. Endless hospital stays, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, radiation. Days of sickness that stole his appetite and nights when sleep was the only escape from pain. And yet, through it all, he kept smiling.

Now, just days away from his bone marrow transplant, he faces the biggest fight of his life. To live, he must first be taken to the very edge, his immune system completely wiped out, his body weakened, so that it can be rebuilt with the gift of a donor’s marrow.

It’s a path no parent would ever choose, but it’s the one that holds hope for his future. These are the days when love and courage are tested in the fire, and Saxon’s courage has never burned brighter.”
