Dear Friends, Family, and Animal Lovers,

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart to ask for help. Our baby Tuna is in urgent need of medical assistance to overcome her severe Stomatitis. This condition has taken a toll on her health, causing immense pain and suffering, and it's breaking our hearts to see her go through this.

Tuna has been a cherished member of our family for 3 years, and she has brought us immeasurable joy and comfort throughout that time. Her sweet soul and loyal companionship have made her an integral part of our lives. Those of you she has touched with her sweetness and cuddles know how much she means to me, and how immensely she deserves a shot at a long, pain free life.

The Situation:

When I first adopted Tuna, her visual symptoms were so minor that I hadn't even noticed she was in pain or even sick at all. The shelter that I adopted her from gave her a clean bill of health, but that turned out to be a total lie. Upon taking her to her first vet appointment after adoption, I was informed that she had severe mouth issues that caused her constant pain, and beneath her thick fluffy coat she was beyond matted. She had tooth extractions and was put on medication, but the vet said this would be a long and painful road for her. She seemed to be doing better after each vet visit when they did cleanings and provided pain management, but over the past few months, things have worsened dramatically. In a matter of weeks, Tuna went from being a vibrant and playful kitty to a cat in constant pain, unable to eat properly, groom herself, or find any respite from her conditions. She has lost a significant amount of weight due to her difficulty in eating, and her constant pain is heart-wrenching to witness. Additionally, she has again developed that severe matting due to her sensitivity, drooling from her mouth abscess, inability to groom herself, which only adds to her discomfort.

The pain Tuna experiences has made it nearly impossible for her to allow us to groom her properly. She drools excessively due to the pain, and her overall quality of life has deteriorated rapidly. We've consulted with veterinarians who have recommended a comprehensive treatment plan, which includes dental surgery and ongoing medical care to manage her condition.

She has emergency surgery scheduled this week (the week of 9/11).

How You Can Help:

We are doing everything within our means to provide Tuna with the best care possible, but the costs associated with her treatment are substantial and beyond our current financial capabilities.
