Help save Rafeef and her children’s lives in Gaza

Dear Friends, 

I am Rafeef Al Balawy , writing to you from the heart of the war hell in Deir Al-Balah in Gaza, Palestine. I cannot begin to describe the immense suffering that my two children Maryam and Rima and I are enduring here. We are living in a tent, constantly displaced and at risk of losing our lives at any moment. We live in constant, unending terror with no safety or security.

For too many days, I have tried to cling to hope for a better life. But the situation has only grown worse. I lost our home and everything inside it due to bombings. I lost my tools as a journalist, and with it, my sole income source. My children have lost their right to an education and their physical and psychological health. 

We have nothing left except the clothes on our backs. We are crushed by the burdens of war on every level. No home to shelter us, no job to sustain us, no peace to calm our hearts. All I have ahead is the desperate search for an escape from this hell. I have lost everything precious to me except my three children. They are my reason for living and for continuing to try to survive. I cannot bear to watch them live this terrifying life one more day. I want to get them out of the cycle of danger and death, even if it means starting over from scratch. 

I plead for your help to save the lives of my small family. Help us flee this place and find safety and peace far away from the fires of war. Neither my children nor I can endure any more suffering. Any contribution, no matter how small, will mean a second chance at life for us.

Do not leave us to languish alone under the agonies of war. I have fought for so long to protect my children, but the situation has become too much for me to withstand. I beg for your support one last time so we can escape and begin rebuilding a secure life for my family.

My name is Şirin and I live in the UK. I have created this fundraiser for my dear friend Rafeef who is in Gaza in the genocide with her children… as they are not allowed to create their own fundraisers due to their location. All donations come to my bank account daily and once we have accumulated a good amount I transfer them directly to Rafeef in Gaza.
