My name is Ewa, and for the last five and a half years I have been living with stage 4 breast cancer.
My diagnosis came when my son was only six months old. What began as a routine scan led to the discovery of cancer that had already spread to my liver. Within days, I was told I had stage 4 breast cancer de novo. My entire world changed in an instant.
Since then, cancer has returned nearly every year — appearing in my thymus, skin, chest wall, lymph nodes, lungs, and recently my bones. Each recurrence has demanded deep strength, countless treatments, and unimaginable resilience. With the support of an extraordinary team of doctors — both conventional and integrative — we managed to clear the cancer from my body each time.
But none of this compares to the strength I’ve needed as a single mother to my now almost six-year-old son, Kasper. He is the joy of my life, my anchor, and my reason to keep going even on the hardest days. Being his mum has given me more purpose, courage, and gratitude than anything else in this journey. Every moment we have together is a blessing.

Why I am asking for help now
In July 2025, I learned that the cancer has returned again — in my liver, lymph nodes, lungs, and now my bones. I am undergoing treatment through NHS England, but because I have already received many rounds of therapy, my options in the public system are now extremely limited.
The NHS cannot offer personalised treatment or specialised testing, both of which I urgently need. That is why I have had to pay privately for comprehensive genetic and chemosensitivity testing to identify which medicines still have the potential to save my life.
This search has led me to Professor Dr. Thomas Vogl, a highly respected specialist in Frankfurt, Germany, who offers an advanced treatment called the TACE method, which has shown promising results for patients like me.
I am also under the care of Dr. Siegfried Trefzer, an experienced functional medicine physician in the UK, who will administer the intravenous therapies that scored highest in my personalised testing.
The costs are overwhelming:
• Each treatment session in Germany: €4,000
• Weekly infusions and hyperthermia treatment in the UK: £600
• Plus the supplements and medications that must continue daily
I have not been able to return to work for over five years due to ongoing treatments. I have survived this long because of the generosity of friends, family, and even strangers who helped me in the past. I am profoundly grateful for every gift that kept me here with my son.
