Hello, my name is Remember Dartey. On November 22, 2018, my life changed forever. While returning to campus from my hostel, I was involved in a devastating accident when the motorbike I was on collided with a taxi. I sustained severe injuries, and after multiple examinations, doctors diagnosed me with an incomplete spinal cord injury.

This injury left me unable to sit upright, move independently, or even perform basic tasks without assistance. In 2019, I underwent my first surgery and was supposed to continue with physiotherapy, but financial constraints made it impossible. My mother—my sole caregiver—did everything she could, even selling her land to support my treatment.

By 2020, I lost the ability to pass urine on my own and have relied on a catheter ever since. In 2023, I underwent a second surgery. Though doctors deemed it successful, I am still unable to walk or urinate without assistance.

Life has become extremely difficult. I depend entirely on others for even the simplest tasks. But I refuse to lose hope! With the right medical care, including intensive physiotherapy and specialized treatments, I have a chance to regain mobility and reclaim my independence.
